OWNERS
Zai and Rika Hanoka are the founders and owners of Zyath Estate. When not working with their menagerie of sighthounds, the two hold a variety of jobs in wildlife conversation. Zai works a day job at the Al Karour Wildlife Sanctuary, while Rika's involvement has steadily shifted toward her work with the Canis Nudari Breed Club (as founder of the Egyptian branch and on the board of directors of the United States breed club). Rika is the head professional handler at Zyath and organizes the kennel's breeding and show plans. Zai on the other hand handles the kennel's finances, maintenance, and dabbles in training. The two met in college in their home country of Japan, moved to Egypt married in 2012, and founded the kennel after moving to Egypt.
Rika originates from Nara, Japan. She has been showing dogs for 21 years, having started at the age of 12 as a junior handler for their family kennel, Hōrōheki Sou. As an adult, Rika specializes in showing sighthounds and spitz breeds and is a licensed FCI judge for Group 10.
